THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - January 24, 2003 - Amgen (Nasdaq: AMGN) announced today the 2003 Amgen Award for Science Teaching Excellence in California, its statewide recognition program for science education. Five K-12 educators who work in either public or private schools in California will each receive an unrestricted $10,000 award from Amgen, and statewide recognition, at a special award ceremony in Los Angeles in May.
