    David J. Scott became senior vice president, general counsel and secretary in March 2004. From May 1999 to February 2004, Scott served as senior vice president and general counsel of Medtronic, Inc., a medical technology company, and also as secretary from January 2000. From December 1997 to April 1999, Scott served as general counsel of London-based United Distillers & Vintners. From April 1996 to November 1997, Scott served as general counsel of London-based International Distillers & Vintners.

    Esteban Santos

      Esteban Santos
      SVP, Manufacturing
      Esteban Santos serves as senior vice president, Manufacturing, with responsibilities for worldwide product supply. Santos is responsible for operations at Amgen's commercial manufacturing locations in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Singapore. Prior to this role, Santos held various leadership roles, including vice president, Drug Product; vice president, Site Operations; vice president, Manufacturing; and vice president, Engineering.

      Before joining Amgen, Santos was site general manager for the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) Cordis operation in Puerto Rico. Prior to J&J, Santos held several management positions in General Electric’s Industrial and Transportation businesses in Puerto Rico, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.

      Santos holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez, and a Master in Science in Management from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Hartford, Connecticut.

      David M. Reese

        David M. Reese
        SVP, Translational Sciences
        Dr. David Reese is senior vice president, Translational Sciences, responsible for Medical Sciences, Comparative Biology and Safety Sciences, and Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism. Prior to assuming this role, Reese was vice president of Translational Sciences and therapeutic area head for Oncology Global Development. Reese joined Amgen in 2005 and served in various roles in Global Development and Medical Sciences.

        Prior to joining Amgen, Reese was director of Clinical Research for the Breast Cancer International Research Group (BCIRG) and a co-founder, president and chief medical officer of Translational Oncology Research International (TORI), a not-for-profit academic clinical research organization.

        Reese is a graduate of Harvard College and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed training in Internal Medicine and Hematology/Oncology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine, and subsequently served on the faculty at UCLA and the University of California, San Francisco.

        David A. Piacquad

          SVP, Business Development
          David A. Piacquad joined Amgen in 2010 and was named senior vice president, Business Development, in March 2014. He is responsible for business development across Amgen and leads a new organization that combines the previously separate Corporate Development and External Research & Development groups. Prior to this role, Piacquad served as vice president, Strategy & Corporate Development, responsible for mergers and acquisitions, inbound and outbound Licensing, Amgen Ventures and Corporate Alliance Management.

          Prior to Amgen, Piacquad was senior vice president, Business Development & Licensing at Schering-Plough Corporation. Before joining Schering-Plough, Piacquad spent more than 20 years at Johnson & Johnson, where he held a series of leadership roles in finance and business development.

          Piacquad holds a BA degree from Colgate University and an MBA from the Wharton School.

          Cynthia M. Patton

            Cynthia M. Patton
            SVP and Chief Compliance Officer
            Cynthia M. Patton serves as senior vice president and chief compliance officer, responsible for Amgen’s worldwide compliance and business ethics organization. Patton joined Amgen in 2005, and most recently was a vice president in the Amgen law department with responsibility for commercial legal activities in the United States. Prior to that position, she served as the lead commercial lawyer for both the oncology and inflammation business units. Before joining Amgen, she spent seven years as general counsel of SCAN Health Plan, a California Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). Prior to SCAN, Patton served as assistant general counsel of UniHealth. She began her legal career at Atlanta-based Alston & Bird in 1986 and has worked at Los Angeles law firms specializing in healthcare corporate and securities law. Patton previously served as a board member of Watts Healthcare Corporation. She is a board member of the Eisner Pediatric and Family Medical Center. Patton received her juris doctor from George Washington University and her bachelor’s degree from Vassar College.

            Joshua J. Ofman

              Joshua J. Ofman
              SVP, Global Value and Access
              Joshua J. Ofman is currently the senior vice president, Global Value and Access at Amgen. He received his advanced medical training in Gastroenterology from UCLA and his Health Services Research training from the RAND/UCLA/VA program. He formerly was a member of the academic faculty in the Department of Medicine, UCLA School of Medicine, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Ofman also served as the Senior Vice President of Zynx Health Inc., a consulting company focused on evidence-based clinical information for quality improvement, and reimbursement and health economics strategy for life sciences companies.

              Alison Moore

                SVP, Process Development
                Dr. Alison Moore is senior vice president, Process Development serving both Operations and R&D organizations. Prior to this role, Moore served as senior vice president, Operations Technology. Moore was previously vice president, Process and Product Engineering (P&PE) function, where she was responsible for Process Development, Clinical Operations and Global Operations Planning. Moore served as vice president, Corporate Manufacturing, overseeing Supply Chain, Contract Manufacturing, Global Distribution, Manufacturing Technologies, and Operations Risk Management. Before taking on this position, she was vice president, Site Operations at Amgen's Fremont, California, manufacturing facility (AFR).

                Before heading up the AFR facility, Moore was a director in Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls Regulatory Affairs at Genentech. Prior to her time at Genentech, Moore had previously spent nine years at Amgen in various positions of increasing responsibility within the Process Development organization.

                Moore holds a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from Manchester University, England, and a bachelor’s in Pharmacology with Honors from Manchester University, England. Following her doctoral degree work at Manchester University, she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Medical University of Lübeck, Germany, and at Genentech.

                David W. Meline

                  David W. Meline joined Amgen in 2014 as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Meline is responsible for Amgen’s finance and investor relations operations.

                  Prior to Amgen, Meline was senior vice president and chief financial officer at 3M. Before joining 3M, Meline had been at General Motors, serving in various capacities including vice president and chief financial officer for GM North America. He had also held senior-level positions with GM Europe in Switzerland, GM Daewoo in South Korea, GM Brasil, GM Kenya, and at GM’s New York office in the company’s treasurer’s office. Meline began his career at AT&T Corporation as a product design engineer.

                  He holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University, a Master of Science in economics from the London School of Economics, London, United Kingdom, and an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago.

                  Brian M. McNamee

                    Brian M. McNamee joined Amgen as senior vice president, Human Resources, in June 2001. In October 2013, McNamee was promoted to executive vice president, Full Potential Initiatives. Prior to joining Amgen, he was vice president of Human Resources at Dell Computer Corp. He has held a variety of executive positions at General Electric over a 12-year period, including senior vice president for the National Broadcasting Corporation, a division of General Electric.

                    McNamee received his bachelor's degree in journalism from St. Bonaventure University and received his master's degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University in 1987. He was elected as a Fellow of the National Academy of Human Resources in 2009 and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Human Resources Policy Association. McNamee formerly served on the Board of Trustees for St. Bonaventure University and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He also serves on the Board of Directors of LA's Promise, a nonprofit organization working to improve schools and empower neighborhoods in some of the most disenfranchised communities in Los Angeles.

                    Diana L. McKenzie

                      As senior vice president and chief information officer, Diana L. McKenzie is responsible for leading Amgen’s Global Information Systems organization. McKenzie joined Amgen in 2004 as executive director, Information Systems. Previously, she spent 17 years at Eli Lilly in roles of increasing responsibility within Information Systems supporting R&D, Commercial Product Development and IT Architecture, Strategy, and Planning. She has served as a founding board member for Clinical Research Information Exchange (CRIX) International and chaired the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) trade association’s Information Management Leadership Committee.

                      McKenzie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Purdue University’s School of Computer Technology in 1986 and was recognized by the university as a Distinguished Alumni in the spring of 2004. McKenzie was named one of the Nation’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology in 2015 by the National Diversity Council.
